OPEN CALL for street artists: spraycation in Tartu

The Stencibility Festival's spraycation is a summer camp for street artists, where we welcome participants from all over Europe. Spraycation gives time to get to know each other, take part in festival events, and most importantly - paint on the streets of Tartu! What makes the 2024 Spraycation even more special is that Tartu is the European Capital of Culture and the Stencibility Festival is part of the main programme.
For us, the most important thing is the creative freedom of the artists, so we won't ask for a design in advance, but we will introduce you to the city and suggest a selection of locations where the artworks can be born on the spot. We will select 10 artists to join the festival. Street artists from all mediums are welcome to apply (painting, stencil, sticker, paste-up, sculpture, installation etc). In making the final selection, we will give preference to artists who are more active on the streets, rather than participating in gallery exhibitions and festivals.
Stencibility offers:
▶ artistic freedom: the possibility to work without pre-approved sketches▶ taking part of the festival in the official line-up
▶ tools: spray paint (MTN 94), acrylic paint, rollers, brushes, etc.
▶ walls to choose from
▶ the possibility to contribute to an abandoned house exhibition during the festival
▶ accommodation in Tartu (03.-07.07.2024).
▶ transport compensation up to 150€
▶ dinner during the festival (4.-7.07)
We received more than 600 applications.
We decided who can participate the spraycation by 10/04/2024.
